How are secondary sources produced ?
When secondary sources are produced by historians, they are constructed by primary sources and the work of other historians. These secondary sources recount events of the past.
The Rosetta stone was discovered in 1799 by French soldiers who were rebuilding a fort in Egypt. Was deciphered by Jean-François Champollion in 1822. Champollion translated the Greek first, then the Demotic. Only then could the hieroglyphs be translated

Interpreting and evaluating sources
Both Primary and Secondary sources require thorough examination and evaluation. One important reason for this is that written material always reflects on the author's values and attitudes.
