There are 5 properties of gases that are important: Their shape and volume vary depending on the container by filling it up completely. If the container changes shape or volume so does the gas. They compress uniformly. If the container's volume decreases so does the volume of the gas. If the volume is reduced enough, the gas will liquefy. They expand uniformly. The gas constantly expands to fill a sealed container. The volume of a gas increases if the volume of the container increases. They have a low density. They mix uniformly with other gases in the same container. Gas Pressure Pressure if the continuous physical force exerted per unit area on an object (container) by something else (gas). Pressure = Force (F)/ Area (A)
