Adjectives can have degrees of comparison. They can be in the positive, the comparative and the superlative form.
REMEMBER: add -er:With adjectives of 1 syllable*adjectives that end in -e we add only -radjectives that end in a vowel sandwich (consonant-vowel-consonant), we double the final consonant: hot-hotter; thin-thinnerwith adjectives of 2 syllables ending in -y, we change the y to i and add -er: lucky-luckier; crazy-crazier
We form the superlative of adjectives in two ways.ADDING -ESTWith adjectives of 1 syllable: old- the oldest; wide- the widestWith adjectives of 2 syllables ending in -y, the y becomes i and we add -est
You must always use the with the superlative to talk about three or more people, animals or things.Example: The shark is the most dangerous fish in the ocean.
