Equations= Density= Mass/Volume Change in thermal energy= mass x specific heat capacity x temperature change Thermal energy for a change of state= mass x specific latent heat Specific Latent heat of fusion is the amount of energy required to change from solid to liquid ( with no change in temperature). Specific Latent heat of vaporisation is the amount of energy that is required to change the state of a substance from a liquid to a gas. The Kinetic Theory= The body of theory which explains the physical properties of matter in terms of the motions of its constituent particles. Specific Heat Capacity= Specific heat is the amount of heat needed to raise the temperature of one kilogram of mass by 1 Degree Celsius. Variables= Independent- A variable whose variation does not depend on that of another. Control- The variable that is kept the seem throughout the whole experiment. Dependent- A variable whose value depends on that of another.
