As the river forms, it pushes the ground beside it. This causes it to bend and makes the river curvy. A river doesn’t form in a straight line. If we were to build a city around a river, if we straightened the river, it eventually curves again and the land becomes smaller. The bedload increases. I think the water always looked muddy because as the river flows, it carries along loads like rocks and soil.
