Evil and sufferingMoral evil - something caused by humans using their free will.Natural evil - suffering that has not been cause by humans.People may not believe in God because they would say that there would be no evil in the world if he really existed. A good God should not want such things to happen, and a powerful God ought to get rid of it.Catholics respond in four different ways.Response 1- They believe there must be a reason for evil and suffering, but humans can't understand it. Follow the example of Jesus and fight it.Response 2 - God gave humans free will so he created a world which evil and suffering would come about.Reason 3 - They believe it is preparation for paradise. People need to improve their souls. He will reward people in heaven if they help people.Reason 4 - Humans cannot understand why he does not remove it. God is divine and we can't understand his thoughts.
