Resumen del Recurso

Página 1

Bedrock determines the nature of regolith's that form on the surface, this in  turn influences the nature of the ;patterned ground found at the site.95% of features at the study site could be classified by surface and site characteristics such as clast size and regolith texture, ultimately defined by the bedrock type.Earth Hummocks are found on wind swept sites but also frost susceptible and fine grained regolit's.The diameter of sorted forms is resultant of sorting depth.

Relict patterned ground in South Africa. The patterned ground is seen at 3280m altitude and the process' that formed the features are thought to be late pleistocene in age  due to the need for seasonal freezing rather than diurnal.
