Current is the speed at which electrons flow through a circuit.

Electrons flow from the positive to the negative terminal of a battery.

However, people originally thought that they flowed in the opposite direction (from positive to negative.

Flow from negative to positive is called electron flow, and positive to negative is called conventional current.

Current is consistent throughout a series circuit.

In parallel circuits, current is distributed between each branch of the circuit based on the loads.

It is

Measured with an ammeter, which is placed in series with a load, with the positive terminal of the battery connected to the positive terminal of the battery.
