Nature and nurture Concerned with the relative importance of the influences of biology and the environment on our behaviour According to the nature view, gender is the result of biological factors such as genes and hormones According to the nurture view, gender is the result of environmental factors such as, family, education and life experiences The mid point in the debate would be the interactionist view that both nature and nurture contribute to gender IMPORTANT: Refer to explanations of gender, offered by biological and social learning theory!
