KCL+H20= KOH+HCL
ENDOTHERMIC REACTION
EQUIPMENT NEEDED:- THERMOMETER- MEASURING CUP-CUP-POTASSIUM CHLORIDE-WATER-GLASS ROD
Potassium hydroxide- KOH
potassium chloride KCL
water- H20
hydrochloric acid- HCL
An endothermic reaction is a reaction which involves a chemical reaction accompanied by the absorption of heat.
Potassium Chloride is used as a water softener. it dissolves quicker and easier
You know it has reacted when: “it fizzes about on the surface when potassium chloride is added to water”
Hypothesis for experiment:“If you increase the amount of KCL the temperature will keep on decreasing”
Dependent variable is the temperature
independent variable is the amount of potassium chloride being put into the water
the control of the experiment is the volume of the water which is needed for potassium chloride to react with.
the ISA question:whether or not different amounts of KCL will change the temperatureANSWER: the more KCL you put in the lower the temperature goes.
reaction will look abit like this
potassium chloride and water
