Ionic Bonding: Metals always have a positive charge. Non-metals always have a negative charge.

How do I calculate the Overall Mass Number? The Overall Mass Number for an element can worked out by adding the fraction of one isotope times by the mass number for that isotope to the fraction for the isotope times that mass number for that isotope.

How do I work out the Mass Number? The Mass Number is the number of Protons and Neutrons added together. To work out the number of Protons of Electrons (same number) you just find out the atomic number. To work out the number of Neutrons you subtract the atomic number from the mass number.
