Hour

. About : love and time in endless feud. 'Love's time's beggar, but even a single hour,   bright as a dropped coin makes love rich Suggesting. . .. love can be made rich because they are together. time has the upper hand because love has to beg for more time

Love is not to be : wasted on cliches- ie; petty valentine's gifts- We find an hour together, spend it not on flowers or wine, but the whole of the summer sky and a grass ditchBut on nature.theme throughout the poem- No jewel hold a candle to the cuckoo spit  hung from the blade of grass at you ear,  no chandelier or spotlight see you better lit  than hereSuggesting. . .that material goods have no comparison to the beauty of nature

Time is more precious than money

Suggested by . . .  Second stanzaFor thousands of second we kiss; your hairlike treasure on the ground; the Midas lightturning your limbs to gold. Time slows, for herewe are millionaires, backhanding the nightSo- they're savoring their time together- comparisons of the object of desire to objects of value show how much more love is worth- the currency they're rich with is love and time- They're preventing the night from coming, from time progressing.
