So vs So much vs So many

La diferencia entre “so” y “so much/many” es que “so” significa “tan” mientras que “so much/many” significan “tanto/tantos” respectivamente.  Es decir, “much”  se emplea con sustantivos incontable y que “many” con incontables.  Recuerda que "so" no significa "muy". Para decir "muy" utilizamos "very".

SO + ADJETIVO/ADVERBIO  So beautiful = Tan guapa.   SO MUCH +  (adj) + SUSTANTIVO INCONTABLE So much time = Tanto tiempo.So much (free) time = Tanto tiempo libre   SO MANY + (adj) SUSTANTIVO CONTABLE  So many students = Tantos estudiantes.So many nice students = Tantos estudiantes simpáticos

Estoy tan lleno! I am so full! He pasado tanto tiempo esperándole… I’ve spent so much time waiting for him… Conocimos a tanta gente guay en la fiesta…Estuvo genial. We met so many cool people at the party…  It was great!  Por qué te enfadaste tanto anoche? Why did you get so angry last night?
