Definition An object designed to provide maximum comfort and to reduce the risk of stress or injury.

Examples Ergonomic chairs. These improve posture, reduce back pain, etc.Ergonomic keyboards. These reduce the risk of muscle strain and other related problems. These are normally in a slight V shape to keep the hands at a more natural angle. Some designers claim reduce the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome and other RSI related injuries, however there is no clear evidence. However the keyboards are expensive compared to standard keyboards.

Uses Used mainly in the workplace, however some people do use them at home for specific purposes (Such as gaming.). Also they may be   recommended by doctors if you are showing signs signs of severe RSI because of repeated actions.Car designers are using ergonomics to make more comfortable seats, more appropriate places and angles for the gear stick and handbrake.
