Descripción

There are three types of flames made with a Bunsen burner. You will use these in school when you do experiments with the Bunsen burner.

Bunsen Burner Flames:Safety Flame: A luminous flame. A yellow flame. The air hole must be closed. Not all of the gas is burned. Soot is in the flame. Use only when lighting the Bunsen burner or when you are not heating anything. Blue Flame: A non-luminous flame. A clear blue flame. The air hole must be partially closed. All of the gas is burned. Allows oxygen into the chimney. Use only for heating things gently. Roaring Flame: A non-luminous flame. A light blue inner comb and a dark blue outer flame. The air hole if fully open. It makes a roaring sound. Use only for heating things quickly. The hottest flame.
