There are some people in our society who object to punishments that Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala has ordained. They argue why there is a harsh punishment for such a “small” crime.

There are some people in our society who say, why is there forgiveness for those who commit crimes.

There are some people in our society who are not bother about the crime and punishment around them

There are some people in our society who say, why is no sever punishment for those who commit crimes.

When a person is being punished for a crime in the dunya, it is in order to absolve them from the punishment in the Hereafter.

We learn from this ayah that theft is a major sin. Any crime for which there’s a Hadd or Prescribed Punishment it’s a major sin. How lowly could someone be for the sake of some money, a bag, a mobile phone, someone is getting his hand cut off? When a person steals a small thing and is not caught or punishment, he goes on to steal something more valuable. Therefore, quarter of a dinar was set as a nisaab. If a crime is not stopped right there, the corruption will spread. From stealing things, he will one day start murdering other people.

We learn from this ayah There is no human power which can gauge the extents of His mastery and domain so shall there be no human reason which can fully fathom the countless manifestations of His Wisdom – and that which it would pass on to human beings by virtue of pondering through principles is sufficient enough to their hearts at peace.

We learn about the encouragement of tawbah [repentance]. Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala is encouraging all of us that if we have committed a zulm then we should repent.

“And theirs will be a lasting torment.” This means an eternal and everlasting punishment from which they will never be able to depart from or avoid.

We learn that if a person has not done anything for himself in the dunya then in the hereafter, nothing will help. No amount of gold or wealth can rescue him from the hellfire. Tawbah is only for the one who is alive. Tawbah is not going to be accepted after death.

We learn that we should stop ourselves from committing something wrong. The regret afterwards neither changes the situation nor does it help us.

we learn that Killing is a great sin, a person who murders someone without any justification it is as if he has killed the entire mankind.

we learn about the punishment for those who spread terrorism whether it is highway robbery or innocent people living in a city are being killed without any reasons.
