The use of hierarchal proportion is common among works from this era across many different regions and time zones.

In a work of art a person’s place, or position in society can be distinguish by varying their size in relation to the other people in the same work; this technique is called hierarchal proportion, Duh.

Hierarchal proportion is used to show the people in the distance.

The distinction of proportion as being, “hierarchal” comes from the Egyptian word, hiera, which means, “to Swing with the authority of one with the gift.”
