Rosie and Fabian were left alone in the [blank_start]library[blank_end]. It was the day before the celebration of the [blank_start]Three Wise Men[blank_end] and their mother was very busy with the preparations. So she locked the children in their father’s library, not without saying: "Be careful not to touch the two top drawers of the [blank_start]bureau[blank_end]. If you are good, I will bring you a snack that you will like a lot".
as expected, soon they wanted to do what they had been [blank_start]forbidden[blank_end] from doing.
Nobody had forbidden them to open the [blank_start]bottom[blank_end] drawers, but they only contained old issues of magazines without pictures. In the two [blank_start]middle[blank_end] drawers, their father stored the manuscript of his great book "The Domestic Life of Ancient Druids", and it was neither correct, nor interesting, to read other people’s papers. The only drawers left were the forbidden ones, the two [blank_start]top[blank_end] ones. What would there be inside? Could the drawers be opened without touching them?
No sooner said than done. There were two [blank_start]boxes[blank_end] in one of them, closed, of course, but it was not necessary to open them to know that they contained [blank_start]soldiers[blank_end]. Furthermore, a doll and a [blank_start]monkey[blank_end] standing on a little [blank_start]green wooden board[blank_end] with wheels, a few lead [blank_start]cannons[blank_end], some little flags and a mechanical [blank_start]mouse[blank_end]. In the other drawer, which they opened in the same way without touching, there were big wooden boxes with [blank_start]nougat[blank_end], dried fruit and other [blank_start]sweets.[blank_end]
