Contexto

Course Introduction This course covers Air Quality  This course aims to answer several questions, including: 1 Which chemicals make up air, and which ones are pollutants? How do I make sense of data about air pollution? 2 What chemical reactions produce air pollutants? What happens to these pollutants in the atmosphere? 3 What choices can we make personally, locally, nationally or globally to improve air quality? The following information, included in this course, is covered at Higher Tier only: Nitrogen monoxide NO is formed during the combustion of fuels in air, and is subsequently oxidised to nitrogen dioxide  Wet scrubbing Benefits and problems of using alternatives to fossil fuels for motor vehicles

This Flow-chart shows the simultaneous and ever present processes that drive the atmosphere's carbon cycle. Increasing one variant will have a corresponding effect on the others.

These notes loot at the causes of Acid Rain as well as the harmful effects of acid rain and other atmospheric pollution. We ask whether we can take steps to reducing acid rain, through changes in energy consumption.
