When using Conceptual Models

A mental model is when you think you know what to do when using an iPod, but when you get it, you're clueless.  A conceptual model is an object you're using. It does not match the mental model you developed before you got it and that’s a problem.

Look out for these mistakes

Designers think they know their audience, but they really don't and it shows off in their work. Designers create conceptual models for a specific demographic and not for everyone. Designers not showing off real-world work.

Modern Example

You create this idea in your mind that you'll play games, listen to music or use the internet when you receive your modern phone. Once you get it, your experience is unusual.
