    The aim of this learning pack is to help the learners to understand the role of a mentor and be aware of the skills needed to become an effective mentor.
    By the end of this pack, you will be able to: Gain insight into the role and practice of mentorship Be clear about mentor/mentee relationships Ensure they follow good practice Be aware of the specific skills and understanding they will require in order to mentor Review their own learning and work performance

    Mentoring definitions
    The Peer Mentor:  This is an experienced person that can help a colleague, friend, peer with advice and support. The Training Mentor: This is an experienced person that can help a new person or someone that has changed responsibilities in the workplace to learn new skills The Learning Mentor: Mentoring is used frequently in both primary and secondary schools. They work with students of all abilities who need help to overcome difficulties that are obstructing their learning. They can work in and outside the classroom. The Induction Mentor: Many organisations use well experienced members of staff to help new employees until they feel confident in their new environment.
