What is a packet of data? A packet is data ( packets of data )
What can a router connect to? Laptop , phone , tablet , ext
What is a Ad-hoc? Ad-hoc network creates a network between just two devices. It has no need for a router (No middle man). A Bluetooth connection is a ad-hoc network.
What is a wireless access point? A wireless access point is basically the antennas on top of the router. It allows devices to connect to the router without wires. Not all routers are wireless routers.
What is a switch? A Switch turns connections between machines on and off when they are needed to avoid these data collisions.
What is a network interface card? Network Interface cards come in wired or wireless forms. They are fitted into a computer or laptop so that they can be connect to a network.
Copper cables Copper wire has been used to wire the home since the telephone became popular, over 100 years ago! It is perfect to send across a voice signal but it has very limited bandwidth.
Fibre optic cables Fiber optics refers to technology that transmits data through thin strands of a highly transparent material that usually is either glass or plastic
Wep key A WEP key is a kind of security passcode for Wi-Fi devices.
