Although the speed of an object moving in a circle may be constant, its velocity isn't At each point on the circular path the direction of the motion is different
If its velocity changes it is accelerating, so a force is needed to produce the acceleration If a string going in a circular path with a ball on the end breaks, the ball will travel in a straight line at a constant velocity
