Inherited trait: It is passed down from an ancestor. It involves a change in DNA. *Heredity is defined as the transmission of characteristics from one generation to the other.

Homologous organs: Same in structural form but perform different functions. Eg. The arm of humans and wings of birds. *Analogous organs: Different structure but perform similar functions. Eg. Wings of birds and wings of insects.
