The Four Humor's Middle Ages | The four humours was a theory devised by Hippocrates. It was the idea that there where four elements in the body. @Blood @Phlegm @yellow bile @black bile. If you had an imbalance of the humours you would become ill. To put the Humor's back into balance you could use exercise, purging and bleeding to fix it. The reason that the church liked this theory was that it made the body look like it was in perfect balance. Until it was ill, then it was imperfect and out of balance. |
