Resuscitative Phase Interventions	Monitor for -tracheal or laryngeal edema, give resp treatments, intubation and mechanical ventilation are instituted with resp burns before complications develop -O2 sat, ABGs and HbCO if inhalation injury is suspected -fluid overload, pulmonary edema -temperature, assess for infection -daily weights, expect weight gain of 6-9 kg (15-20 lbs) in first 72 hours -gastric output, pH levels, gastric discomfort and bleeding, indicate a stress ulcer -stools for occult blood -IV fluid, intake and output, monitor lab results especially if urine is less than 30 or greater than 50 -pulses, cap refill, assess perfusion of the distal limb with a circumferential burn -abd distention distention and GI dysfunction, auscultate bowel sounds -Room is warm -air bed or other mattress keep sheets off client's skin -prepare for CXR -avoid diuretics for edema hypovolemia, elevate limb -^ Heart -U/S for myoglobin and Hgb -Antacids, H2 receptor antagonists and antiulcer meds prevent stress ulcers -clip body hair around wound margins -Elevate HOB 30 or more for face and head burns -isolation techniques
