Japan was ruled by Samurai clans, the strongest samurai was called Shogun who was leader of the Japanesse army
Tokugawa clan ruled from 1600 to 1867. This period is called tokugawa shogunate
Tokugawa Yoshinobi last Shogun(keiki), attempted to modernize Japan goverment and militia but failed
Satsuma, Chosu and Tosa clans differed the shogun ideas so they joined to raised and opposition under the slogan "revere the emperor, expel barbarian"
Yoshinobu resigend as a Shogun returned the power to the emperor , conlfict between Satsuam, Chosu vs Tosa began
USA commodore manage to arrived to Japan coast on July 8 of 1853 with four warships
Tokunawa Yoshinobu accepted the treaty of Kanawa March 1554 which lead to the open of two ports to the USA trade
