Why are Fairness, accountability and tranparency trust-enhancing factors Without transparency, can we know, if decision was fair or who is responsible for it? Is transparency a necessary condition to determine accountability ans fairness in algorithmic system?
What are examples of False/True Positives & False/True Negatives? False positve: She must stay in custody even though she poses no threat to society True positive: She must stay in custody and she is a threat to society False negative: She can go home even though she poses a risk to society True negative: She can go home and poses a threat to society
Ex ante explanation before the decision was made can logically address only systems functionality, as the rationale of a specific decision cannot be known before the decision is made
Ex post explanation after the decision was made occurs after an automated decision has taken place. Ex post explanation can address both systems functionality and the rationale of a specific deciosion
