Lent The period of 40 days and 40 nights which lead up to Easter which recalls the 40 days in which Jesus resisted temptation in the wilderness.
Atonement The Christian belief that Jesus sacrificing himself brought a reconciliation between humanity and God.
Baptism Christian ceremony of purification with water.
Original sin The sin in which Eve brought into the world when she picked a apple from the tree after being tempted by a snake (Satan) when she was told by God not to.
The Holy Trinity The Father (God), The Son (Jesus), and The Holy spirit (a part of God within us)
Parousia (Second coming) also referred as Judgement day in which Jesus shall return to Judge humanity at the end of the world.
Purgatory Roman Catholics believe that the souls of the dead go to purgatory before entering Heaven.
Beatific vision The sight of God
Penance An act to show regret for having sinned.
Redemption Jesus saved people from punishment for the sins of humanity and redeemed them.
Salvation Jesus saved people form the consequences of sin.
Anointing of the Sick A sacrament given to those who are sick or dying.
Apocrypha Jewish and Christian religious writing that are not included within the Bible.
