Name the 4 features of a yeast cell cell membrane, cytoplasm, cell wall, nucleus with genetic material
What is special about a bacterial cell? They have no nucleus so the genetic material is free in the cytoplasm
What are the 4 features of a bacterial cell? cell membrane, cytoplasm, cell wall, genetic material
What is diffusion? the spreading out of particles from the area of high concentration to an area of low concentration
What molecules can pass through a cell membrane (4) oxygen, glucose, amino acids and water
what happens in a plants mesophyll tissues? it's where most photosynthesis of a plant occurs
what tasks do xylem and phloem carry out? they transport water, mineral ions and sucrose around the plant
where can epidermal tissue be found? it covers the whole outside of a plant
What is the word equation for photosynthesis? carbons dioxide + water -> glucose + oxygen
What 3 factors affect the rate of photosynthesis? light intensity, temperature, amount of co2
What 5 thing do plants use glucose for? respiration, making cell walls, making proteins, store it in seeds and store it as starch
What is a quadrat? a square frame with a known area to compare how common an organism is in two chosen areas
