Brazil "The world's largest floating Christmas tree" The world's largest floating Christmas tree has been unveiled in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. It has more than 3 million lights and stands 278 feet tall. The lighting is the city's biggest celebration after Carnaval and New Year's Eve.

Australia "The gold nugget" In the 19th century, many Europeans who migrated to Australia worked in gold mines. As a result, the miners would bake a small gold nugget into their annual puddings. England "Christmas Cracker" A Christmas Cracker is a cardboard paper tube, wrapped in brightly coloured paper and twisted at both ends. There is a banger inside the cracker, two strips of chemically impregnated paper that react with friction so that when the cracker is pulled apart by two people, the cracker makes a bang. Crackers typically contain a paper crown (tissue party hat), a motto (joke or riddle), a snap (friction activated popping device), and a small gift or novelty item.
United Arab Emirates "The Most Expensive Christmas Tree" The Emirates Palace hotel, the luxury Abu Dhabi hotel, in 2010, unveiled what is thought to be the world’s most expensive Christmas tree, valued at more than $11 million. The 13-metre fake evergreen tree, located in the hotel’s lobby, was decorated with silver and gold bows, ball-shaped ornaments and small white lights.
Latvia "Poems" To get the Christmas present you have to recite a short poem standing next to the Christmas tree. So the children learn a lot of poems by heart before Christmas. They can also sing, play a musical instrument or even dance to get their present.
Colombia "Día de las Velitas" (Day of the little Candles). Christmas celebrations and preparations start on the evening of the 7th December. Houses and streets are decorated with candles, lanterns and lots of lights. There are also big firework displays and music to dance to and foods like 'buñuelos' and 'empanadas'.
Austria "Silent Night" "Silent Night" (German: "Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht") was composed in 1818 in Oberndorf bei Salzburg, Austria. Every Christmas Eve, hundreds of people from all over the world gather in Oberndorf to sing one of the world's most beloved carols.
Italy "Presepi" Saint Francis of Assisi is said to have given birth to the tradition in 1223, after he staged a "living" nativity scene made up of villagers and animals in the hilltop town of Greccio, not too far from Rome. Since then, the custom has morphed into a true household art form and one of the country’s most beloved festive traditions.
