Pregunta Respuesta
Nutrition means using matter and energy for grow and tissue repair
Interaction consists of all the processes through which an organism interacts with the environment, perceives what is going on it, and produces responses coherent with the information that was perceived.
Interaction is necessary in order to : Obtain food. Protect against danger Court the females/males in the species.
Reproduction is the ability to produce living beings similar to the parental
Asexual reproduction there is only one parental organism, as in bacteria.
Sexual reproduction When two different types of individuals, male and female, are required.
Inorganic substances . are water and mineral salts.
There are two kinds of biomolecules inorganic and organic.
There are four groups of organic biomolecules.. glucides, lipids, proteins and nucleic acids.
Glucids function is to provide energy and make structures.
Lipids function is to provide energy and make structures.
Prokaryotic cells - Have no nucleus. Example: Bacteria
Eukaryotic cells Have a nucleus, separated from the cytoplasm by the nuclear membrane Example: Animal and plant cells
Cell Wall • Outer layer of a plant cell • Made of cellulose
Cell Membrane • Controls movement of materials in/out of cell
Nucleus Contains the hereditary material of the cell
Cytoplasm jellylike material where organelles are found .
Mitochondrion • Site of cellular respiration
Vacuole • Store substances in the cell.
Chloroplast Where the photosynthesis takes place
Endoplasmic reticulum • Smooth without ribosomes • Rough with embedded ribosomes • Carries materials through cell
Ribosome Synthesizes proteins
Lysosome Digests old cell parts
Golgi Apparatus • Package and export proteins from the cell.
THE CELL THEORY • All living things are made of cells. • Cells are the basic units of structure and function in living things. • All cells are produced from existing cells.
Protein functions are -
Nucleic acid functions are - store the genetic material
