Pregunta Respuesta
What are SI units? SI units are the international base units for measurement.
What are the SI units for: Time Length Mass Temperature Time- seconds Length- meter Mass- Kilogram Temperature- Kelvin
What are the SI units for: Amounts of something Electric current Luminous substance Amounts of something- mole Electric current- ampere Luminous substance- candela
What pieces of equipment could be used to measure length? -Rule -micrometer -vernier calipers
How do you read a vernier caliper?
How do you read a micrometer?
What is volume? Volume is the quantity of space an object takes up.
How can volume be measured> Volume can be measured using -a measuring cylinder -using formulas -using a displacement can
Formula for volume? volume of block=length x width x height volume of cylinder= π x radius2 x height
How can time be measured? Time can be measured on and analogue or digital stopwatch
When is finding the period useful? Finding the period is often easier to measure than short time intervals
How do you find the time for one swing? To find the time for one swing you can set up a pendulum. you measure the time it takes for 10 swings to occur then divide the time by the amount of swings
How can the mass of objects be measured? The mass of objects can be measured using a balance
How can you measure the volume of a small solid? The volume of a small solid can be done in a measuring cylinder. -Partially fill the cylinder and record the volume -Then place the object in and record the volume -The increase in level is volume of the solid
How is a displacement can used? -Fill can (water reached spout) -slowly submerge object -record volume in beaker.
How is density calculated? density = mass ------------ volume
