Cell wall Made of cellulose. Supports the cell.
Chloroplasts Found in the green parts of a plant. Contain chlorophyll, which absorbs light energy and makes food by photosynthesis.
Permanent vacuole Space in the cytoplasm filled with cell sap. Keeps the cells rigid and supports the plant.
Cell membrane Lets substances such as glucose and mineral ions into the cell and lets substances like urea and hormones out.
Ribosomes Where protein synthesis takes place.
Mitochondria These use oxygen and release energy during respiration.
Nucleus The control centre of the cell. It controls the cell's activities and contains genes on the chromosomes, which carry instructions for creating the proteins required to create more cells.
