Resumen del Recurso

Pregunta Respuesta
Vector Quantity A quantity with both magnitude and direction
Examples of Vector Quantities Displacement, velocity, force, acceleration, magnetic flux density, momentum, electric field strength
Displacement Distance in a given direction Measured in metres
Velocity The rate of change of displacement with respect to time Measured in metres per second
Formula for Average Velocity (u + v)/2
Acceleration Rate of change of velocity with respect to time Measured in metres per second squared
Formula for Acceleration (Change in velocity) / (time taken) a = (v - u)/t
Adding Co-linear Vectors Same direction - add magnitudes, use same direction Opposite direction - subtract magnitudes, use direction of larger vector
Triangle Law The resultant of two perpendicular vectors is equal to the hypotenuse of the right-angled triangle formed by the two vectors placed "tip to tail"
Resolving vectors A vector can be resolved into two perpendicular component vectors
