Resumen del Recurso

Pregunta Respuesta
Breaking Stress The lowest stress required to break a material
Brittle Doesn't deform plastically, snaps under stress
Brittle Fracture When stress is applied, cracks form in the material increasing in size until the material breaks.
Compressive Force Compression (squashing)
Density Mass per unit volume of a material.
Elastic When a material is able to return to it's original shape after forces are applied.
Elastic Limit Point at which the material is no longer acting elastically but now plastically.
Hooke's Law Extension of a material is directly proportional to the load applied until the limit of proportionality.
Hooke's Law Limit Limit of proportionality, point at which a material stops acting elastically.
