Spelling and Grammar | Over 90% of CVs have a spelling or grammar mistake somewhere, so odds aren't in your favor. If unsure of something, as for help |
Too Long | Employers don't have time to look at long CVs. No more than 2 pages, and try to keep important info into top third of first page |
Inaccurate Information | The majority of your CV is likely to come up in interview, so you will be caught out even if the interviewer doesn't initially spot it |
Too Generic | Get used to tailoring your CV to each job you apply for. Specifications are different for every job |
Unnecessary Detail | The day-to-day experience of previous experience is not required. Only want to know skills learned/developed |
Inconsistent Layout | Needs to be clear and easy to read. Make sure paragraphs are aligned, all font is the same type and size. |
