F.H. Bradley Everyone has a role in society - doing what is required is moral. Realise our true self (learn in the family and community) and adopt values of our society. To be moral we must know our station and its duties.
Aquinas Developed theological naturalism. Believe that goodness is linked to the will of God as seen in nature. God's will defines morality - murder is wrong because God commands against it.
G. E. Moore (in context of ethical naturalism) Criticised ethical naturalism. Argued that moral judgements are based on intuition - we automatically know good from bad.
G. E. Moore (in context of intuitionism) Right acts are those which produce the most good. Good cannot be defined. "good is good and that is the end of the matter". Cannot use senses to tell us if something is right or wrong. We JUST KNOW (simple notion). Example of colour yellow.
H. A. Prichard Good cannot be defined. Reason and intuition are 2 different types of thinking - intuition tell us right from wrong. People's morals are different because some are more developed than others.
