| What is inflammation? | A complex response by vascular tissues to protect the organ from harmful stimuli. It is an innate immune response. |
| What is rheumatoid arthritis? Is it more likely in men or women and what is the average age of onset? | Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, systemic inflammatory autoimmune disease that mainly attacks synovial joints. Women are three times more likely than men to get it and average age of onset it between 40-50. |
| What is osteoarthritis? What are some of the major symptoms? | Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease leading to degradation of joints and loss of cartilage. Symptoms include joint pain, tenderness, stiffness and locking. |
