Pregunta Respuesta
What are the different parts of the Bunsen Burner?? The different parts are the: Collar, Air hole, Chimney, Base, Rubber tubing, Gas tap, Flame outer cone, flame inner cone.
What are the two different types of flames, when it comes to a Bunsen burner?? There is the yellow flame which is the sooty, bright flame and then there is the blue flame which is the hot, roaring flame.
Which flame do you use to heat things with and why?? You use the blue flame to heat things up because it is the hotter flame out of the two and because the yellow flame is sooty and will turn the object being heated black.
Why do you never leave the Bunsen burner on a blue flame when unsupervised?? You never leave the blue flame unsupervised as it cannot be seen so it is a hazard as someone may think that the Bunsen burner is off and try to pack it away while it is still switched on.
