Pregunta Respuesta
What is speed and velocity? How fast you are going
What are the units of measure? m/s
How is velocity different to speed? Velocity, as a vector, has magnitude and direction. It is a measure of the rate at which an object changes position. To describe a car's velocity you would have to state it as 70 miles per hour, south.
What is the formula for average speed? average speed = distance travelled / time taken
What is acceleration? How quickly velocity is changing. Can be change in speed or direction.
What are the units of measure for acceleration? m/s 2 (REMEMBER THE SQUARED BIT!!!)
What is the formula for acceleration? Acceleration = Change in velocity / Time Taken. final velocity - initial velocity / time taken. (v - u) / t
How do you calculate distance travelled Distance = average speed × time However, you need to know the average speed to use it. If the speed changes from one speed to another, you use this equation: d = (u + v) ÷ 2 × t and Time = distance ÷ average speed t = (2 × d) ÷ (u + v)
