Pregunta Respuesta
Also known as electronic ink or paper. Smart ink is a display technology, which was developed in order to overcome some of the limitations of computer monitors. E.g. The back-lighting of monitors is hard on the human eye, whereas electronic paper reflects light just like normal paper. Making it easier to read at an angle than flat screen monitors.
Advantages: Lightweight, Durable, Highly flexible. A major advantage is that the pixels have an inherently stable 'memory effect' that requires no power to maintain image. Displays only draw on battery power when the page needs refreshing. Currently being developed for applications such as electronic books, capable of storing digital versions of books.
How it works: Inside each pixel there are tiny white and black beads. The white beads are +ively charged an the black beads -ively charged. Altering the charge applied to each pixel makes the pixel either black or white.
