Medicine in medieval England 1250 -1500 ideas of Galen and Hippocrates - believed four humours controlled the body. if someone feel ill they were treated with bloodletting or purging. eating healthy was a way of preventing illness.
the four humours consists of blood, phlegm, yellow bile, black bile. blood( people may cough blood or have nose bleeds), black bile(people vomit a dark smelling liquid), yellow bile(sick people can vomit up their half digested foods), phlegm(the sick sometimes sneeze revolting phlegm) the church controlled peoples lives and way of beliefs. the attitudes of people also affected medieval life as people were tho
