  1. Ihram
    1. State of purity and equality before Allah

              2. represents equality and community of all muslims as done all together
                1. Should repeat at end of pilgrimage
              3. Safa and Marwah
                1. Run between these hills seven times
                  1. represents search of Hagar (Ibrahim's wife) searching for water for her son
                    1. Muslims believe Ismail (her son) got his foot stuck in the ground which then released a spring of water from the ground - Zam zam well
                      1. drink from it before they return home
