      2. Closure
      3. similarity
      4. figure and ground
2. Stimuli that are:
   1. Intense
   2. Repetitious
   3. Contrasting
   4. Related to our motives
3. Selective attention
4. Selective exposure
5. Selective retention
6. Selective perception
7. As a result, we achieved a more limited but more coherent and meaningful picture of the work
