Simple present vs present continouos

1. Examples: Tom goes fishing every week. I usually work until 2:00 p.m. My family lives far away.The Earth is round.

2. The most important thing to remember about this tense is..We say: I, You, We, They, + Verb and But for 3rd person singular, we say: He, She, It + Verb + S Example: I work You work, She works
1) Something that is happening now or close to the time of speaking 2) A temporary situation. We often use the present continuous (and not simple present) when action continues over a period of time.
1. Examples: Where’s Tom? He’s playing soccer.Martha and her husband are traveling around Europe for two weeks.

Simple Present (Negative) For all verbs (EXCEPT be), use: doesn't don't + form simple verb examples:Sara doesn’t work on Sunday. I don’t have a lot of free time.
VERB BE: For this verb ONLY, never use doesn’t or don’t. Simple ADD the word NOT after the verb. Example: I am tired. I am NOT tired.
1. HE IS RICH, HE IS NOT RICH
Present Continuous: I am, You-We-They are, He-She-It is + Verb-ING Example: I am cleaning my house this week.
1. Present Continuous (Negative) For this tense, simply ADD the word NOT after the verb BE.
