  1. Procedure
    1. Used the same ppts- born in China, living in Canada
      1. They asked ppts what they had been mostly speaking in the 2 hours before study (chinese/english)
        1. it works on the idea that Eastern cultures are more open to contradiction
          1. They also asked ppts about how they were feeling
          2. Findings
            1. They found people who had been speaking English made more disctinction between happy and sad, rarely reported feeling a mixture of both
              1. People who had been speaking Chinese showed less distinction and so had more contradiction
              2. Conclusion
                1. the self can change from moment to moment and our language can change how we view ourselves.
