Human Resources
Is the department concerned with the management of people.
Finance
Is the department concerned with keeping an accurate record of the movement of money within the
business predicting financial profits and losses.
Sales and Marketing
Are concerned with achieving the target for sales of the products or services.
Customer Services
Customer service are concerned with keeping the customers happy.
Production
In businesses that make goods there will be a production function which is
responsible for the product being made to a standard quality in a safe and
efficient manner.
Research and Development
For the business to survive there needs to be someone with a
responsibility for research and development. Without improvements to
products and services, competitors will eventually produce better products
or give an improved service and take over their customers.

Within each large organisation there are a number od
job roles, such as mangers, supervisors and
operatives.
Managers are generally responsible for the
decision making in the organisation, and they
pass on the instructions to the supervisors.
The task of the supervisor is to ensure that the operatives or workers follow instructions and perform tasks diligently.
What does administration involve
Administration involves the storing, processing, retrieving
and spreading or disseminating (passing on) information.
