  1. Energy Transfer Diagrams
    1. Usually used to show where energy from a source is actually used. Can be shown like zis
      1. The battery is the beginning energy. The energy is transferred to the lamp, which transfers the energy to the outside surroundings

      3. Sankey Diagrams
        1. Sometimes used to show how much energy is used and how much energy is dispersed, spread out, wasted, and useless. It can also be used for the same methods as above, showing how much energy goes in to an individual process. Le Example:
          1. The beginning, Electrical Energy, is 100 Jules. 10J goes in to light energy, whilst 90 goes in to Heat Energy.
        2. Energy and Efficiency
          1. Appliances transfer energy but not all the energy is transferred in useful ways. The choice of appliance is influenced by their efficiency and cost effectiveness. via BBC BITESIZE
            1. Energy Types: magnetic kinetic (movement energy) heat (thermal energy) light gravitational potential chemical sound electrical elastic potential nuclear.
              1. Different types of energies can actually beeen transferred from one type rto another For instance, heat energy can turn into light energy and chemical energy can be turned into kinetic energy by a car engine
                1. Energy Efficiency is 'using less energy, to provide the same service. An example of this is replacing an appliance like a fridge or a washing machine with an energy efficient version. This saves energy, and money on your electricity bill whilst still working the same.
          2. Electric Current And Voltage
            1. Electric Currents can be drawn either be series or parallel
              1. When electric charges moves in a wire, we call this an electric current. For a current to flow we need to have a source of energy like a battery and a complete path for the current to flow through
                1. To measure a current we use an ammeter, which we insert a cable in between the circuit. We can also measure 'voltage' which is the measure of the difference between electrical energy with the voltmeter.
            2. Resistance
              1. Resistance is an amount of interruptance in a circuit. Resistance can usually be seen by the amount of bulbs there are in a circuit
                1. When electrons move through a wire they collide with ions in the metal. There is less resistance in a short wire then in a longer wire as there are less ions
              2. Electromagnets
                1. When an electric current flows in a wire it creates a magnetic field around the wire. By winding the wire into a coil we can strengthen the magnetic field. Electromagnets are made from coils like this. (From BBC BITESIZE)
                  1. (From Bitesize)The magnetic field around an electromagnet is just the same as the one around a bar magnet. the polarity can, be reversed by turning the battery around. Unlike bar magnets, the magnetism of electromagnets can be turned on and off justby closing or opening the switch.
