Resumen del Recurso

Pressure
  1. is FORCE per unit AREA
    1. measure of force being applied to the surface of comething
      1. Force = Newtons
        1. Area = mxm OR cmxcm
        2. P = F ÷ A
          1. Pressure = N/m2 N/cm2 Pa
            1. 1Pa = 1N/m2
              1. The same force over a larger area creates a smaller pressure
              2. in Liquids and Gases
                1. at rest, pressure at any point acts equally in all directions
                  1. pressure increases with depth
                    1. higher at bottom of sea than at top
                    2. Pressure difference = height x density x gravity
                      1. Pressure = Pa
                        1. Height = m
                          1. Density = kg/m3
                            1. Gravity = 10 N/kg (on earth)
